Ui, da begann mein Tag schon fein. Heute in der Gumpendorferstrasse: Wartend auf den Bus zur Arbeit. Und er kommt nicht. Daneben eine nette mit Chanel-Produkten dekorierte Auslage und ich hinein. Einen Nagellack und Lippenstift ergattert und glücklich für den ganzen restlichen Tag. Die Parfümerie Martell – in besagter Gumpendorferstrasse, es gibt aber auch eine in der Neubaugasse – ist klein, fein und voller Special Editions der Chanel-Lacke. Sie bekommen immer, wenn Chanel einen neuen Traumlack auf den Markt schmeisst, einige Fläschchen der heißbegehrten Substanz. Also: Nicht mehr mit Wahnsinnigen auf Ebay um die letzten Fläschchen streiten, sondern lieber dorthin gehen und in Ruhe probieren.

OMG, my day began fabulous. Today in the Gumpendorferstrasse: Waiting on the bus to work. And he does not come. Nearby a Chanel decorated window display. I went in and got a nail color and a lipstick so I was happy for the rest of the day. The perfumery Martell – there are two shops, one at the Gumpendorferstrasse and one at the Neubaugasse – are tiny but very well sorted and full of Special-Editions of the Chanel nail colors. And they always get a few bottles of the dream polishes. So: At your next stop in Vienna - go there and you do not have to fight with maniacs at Ebay!

Der neue Monki-Katalog ist da mit vielen schönen Fotostrecken. Und auch die Homepage des skandinavischen Labels inspiriert mich immer wieder. So wie die oben gezeigten Bilder. Wunderschöne Kombinationen in Schwarz, Weiß und Brauntönen. Und dieser Hut! Bei uns kann man die tollen Sachen leider noch nicht bestellen. Also müssen wir bis zum nächsten Deutschland-/Skandinavienbesuch warten, oder wir bezirzen unsere Freunde im Ausland...

Das New Yorker Metropolitan Museum of Art widmet dem Künstler eine eigene Ausstellung mit atemberaubenden Entwürfen. Ab 4. Mai zu sehen und eine Empfehlung für alle New York-Reisenden. Ein Versuch, ein Bild vom Gesamtwerk des Designers zu zeichnen - wunderschön und bewegend!
Alexander Mc Queen - one of THE designers of the last years. Always different and always a little bit arousing and unfortunately died too young. The New York Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art dedicates an exhibition the artist with his breathtaking designs. A reccomandation for all New York travellers. A try to get an idea of his complete work and career - swell and touching!

Bill Cunningham ist Fotograf bei der New York Times - und nicht irgendeiner. Seine Kolummen "On The Street" und "Evening Hours" sind eine der angesehendsten (Ja, auch Anna Wintour hat ihn gern!) Street Style- und Fashion-Kolumnen. Nun erscheint ein Film: Bill Cunningham New York, der vorerst nur in Amerika präsentiert wird, ich bin mir aber sicher auch in kleinen Kinos bei uns wird er gezeigt.
