Moonchild - Hippie, Hippie, Yeah!

Pascale Koehl, ehemalige Designerin bei April77, hat ein Label. Ein Label, das Moonchild heißt, klein, fein und inspiriert von den Hippiekindern, in der aktuellen Fall/Winter-Kollektion 2011 Ponchos, Cardigans und Tücher aus 100% Alpaca-Wolle zeigt. Ihre Entwürfe tänzeln zwischen alten und modernen Zeiten, und Koehl geht es um mehr als nur schöne Mode - es geht um die Produktionsbedingungen in Peru, der richtigen Haltung der Schafe, von denen sie die Wolle bekommt und einfach nicht um den maximalen Profit. Die aktuelle Kollektion ist sehr reduziert, für die Sommerkollektion 2012 plant das Label wieder ein wenig mehr zu expandieren - langsam, dafür qualitativ hochwertig. Zurzeit gibt es die Sachen des Lables nur in ausgesuchten Shops wie Opening Ceremony in London oder Merci in Paris. Und ich bin mir sicher - Man wird noch einiges hören und sehen von Moonchild!

The former April 77 designer Pascale Koehl has a label. A label called Moonchild which is small, smooth and inspired of the hippies. In the latest Autumn/Winter collection 2011 she showes ponchos, cardigans ans scarfs made from 100% Peruvian alpaca wool and decorated with North American native indian motifs. The pieces are dancing between the old and the new times but there is more: In Koehls collection there is everything about the fair pay for the Peruvian craftswomen and the ethical treatment of the sheep instead of profit maximisation. The collection is small but the label try to grow slow but qualitative. For Summer 2012 they plan a larger collection with dresses, jewellery, tops and more. Right now the designs are only available in selected shops like Opening Ceremony in London or Merci in Paris. But I am sure: We will see and hear a lot more of Moonchild!

Anny, Philip & the Fathers of Lucy

Mein Kurzbesuch in meiner Heimat hat mir nicht nur diesen schmucken, alten Plattendreher beschert, sondern auch meinen neuen Lieblingslack der mich durch die letzten Tage begleitete: "Green meets Mint" von Anny - erhältlich bei Douglas. So verbrachte ich meinen Sonntag neben Philip sitzend, Anny lackierend und "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" singend. Gibt es was besseres um einen zu heißen Sonntag zu verbringen?
P.S. Und meine aktuelle wiederentdeckte Lieblingssonnenbrille von H&M pack ich gleich noch obenauf! Der Armreif war ein Bestandteil einer kaputten Lampe - Das ist Recycling, Baby!


My short trip back to my roots brought a lot of new things with it: Not only this amazing old record player but also my new beloved polish "Green meets Mint" by Anny - got it at Douglas. So I spent my last sunday sitting beside Philip, polishing Anny and singing "Lucy in the Sky". Is there anything better to do than this on a lazy too hot sunday?
P.S. And I thought I should show you my old new favourite shades by H&M. The bangle is a part of a busted old lamp - This is recycling, baby!

Modeschule Hetzendorf/ Fashion School Hetzendorf - Show 2011

Am Dienstag nach "Der Angewandten"-Show besuchte ich die Show 2011 der Modeschule Hetzendorf - und was soll ich euch erzählen? Hat gute/vielbeachtete Mode immer mit gutem Marketing zu tun? Mit den richtigen Sponsoren? Mit riesigen Events und den richtigen geladenen Gästen? Ich finde nicht, doch vergleicht man die beiden Shows kann man zu keinem anderen Schluss kommen. Wie schon in meinem Post über die Show der Angewandten geschrieben hat mich ausser George Bezhanishvili niemand dort vom Hocker gerissen. In Hetzendorf war das anders: Tolle Entwürfe, tragbare Mode, die trotzdem künsterisch hochwertig ist und einfach ein sympathischerer Auftritt. Sogar die unteren Lehrgänge zeigten Mode zum Niederknien - entspannter, lässiger und nicht um den "fancy" Auftritt heischend. Aber nun ein paar Bilder für euch....

The tuesday after the Show of the university of applied arts vienna I visited the show for 2011 of the Fashion School Hetzendorf - and what shall I tell you? Has good/widely noticed fashion always to do with the right marketing? With the best sponsors? With big events and the right guestlist? I do not think so but after visiting the both events it must be like this. I already told you in my post about the show of the university of applied arts vienna that except George Bezhanishvili nobody really swept me off my feet. But Hetzendorf did! Great concepts, wearable fashion, very artistic and in the end a very symphatic event. Even the lower grades showed very strong fashion - more unstressed, more casual and not too fancy.
